About Infiniteria
Infiniteria is a growing company on a mission to make tyre production sustainable. At Infiniteria, we are building industrial solutions that make circularity profitable, scalable, and real.
Our mission is clear: to transform end-of-life tyres (ELT) into high value materials for new tyres and fuels, enabling circular material loops at industrial scale—without compromising on economics, safety, or industrial-grade engineering.
We are a growing, international team building something that has not been done before at this scale. The work is complex and demanding, but it’s one that truly matters – for European supply chain resilience and for the circular economy.
We believe sustainability only works when it is commercially viable and delivers tangible value to customers. That is why we focus on solutions that perform reliably in operation, compete on cost, and stand up to industrial scrutiny.
Infiniteria combines the pace and ownership of a young company with the discipline that large-scale industrial projects require.
About the role
Infiniteria is looking for a Project Manager to lead its industrial investment projects from early concept to a plant running at its design capacity. As the owner's project manager, you will take projects through our stage-gate process, set the safety standard for everyone on site, and deliver against agreed targets for safety, cost, schedule, quality and plant performance.
For this role, the measure of success is turning investment decisions into assets that deliver their business case. You will hold the teams to that standard through disciplined execution, clear accountability, plain-language reporting and an uncompromising focus on safety.
The role suits a project manager from the chemicals, refining or energy sectors who has delivered major capital projects in process-safety-regulated plants and wants to build something new. You will work closely with the development, technology, operations and finance teams, and with management.
Your first assignment: the Uddevalla flagship plant
Your first and defining assignment is our flagship project in Uddevalla, Sweden: Infiniteria's first-of-a-kind industrial plant. The project is well into construction. You will take over the running project and lead the EPCM contractor through the completion of engineering design, installation, commissioning and start-up. This is a hands-on, site-based role. How you bring this first plant into successful operation, and the lessons you capture along the way, will shape the template for the plants that follow.
Key responsibilities
Uddevalla: takeover and completion
- Safety first: Lead a strong safety culture on site through construction and the transition to a live plant, with zero harm as the goal. Make sure the EPCM contractor and every site contractor meet the project's safety standards, and that process safety measures, including pre-start-up safety reviews, are fully in place before any process materials or energy are introduced.
- Project takeover: Take over the running project and establish clear control from day one. The project has been re-baselined, so your task is to deliver against the approved budget and schedule: get to grips with the scope, contracts, open issues and risks quickly, and put in place the controls, reporting and team routines needed to hold the baseline.
- EPCM contractor management: Act as the owner's representative towards the EPCM contractor, with a strong focus on contract management. Administer the EPCM contract and the construction and supply contracts under it, enforce contractual obligations, manage variations, claims and change orders, and protect the owner's commercial position. Hold the EPCM contractor accountable for engineering, procurement support and construction management through clear targets and regular performance reviews.
- Hands-on progress monitoring: Be visible on site every day, walk the work, and personally monitor progress across the EPCM contractor and the installation contractors. Hold them to their commitments through look-ahead planning and daily and weekly progress meetings, and escalate quickly when work slips.
- Board and owner reporting: Provide accurate, timely and decision-ready reporting on progress, cost, forecast, risks and contract position to management, the board and the company's owners, and present the project in person at board level.
- Completing the engineering design: Drive the remaining detailed engineering to completion, and keep late design changes, vendor data and as-built documentation under control.
- Installation and completion: Oversee the installation of equipment, piping, electrical and instrumentation, manage interfaces between contractors on site. Take the plant through a structured completion process of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, punch-list close-out, commissioning and start-up, with clear system-by-system handover from construction to commissioning and on to operations.
- First-of-a-kind scale-up: Work with the technology team to resolve the scale-up and performance issues that appear during commissioning and ramp-up of a first plant.
Future projects and stage gates
- Front-end loading: Lead Infiniteria's next projects through the front-end loading (FEL) phases of concept, feasibility and FEED, producing the gate deliverables, cost estimates and project execution plan needed for each gate review and for the final investment decision.
- Design reviews: Run design, constructability and value engineering reviews so the plant is safe, buildable, operable and maintainable before the design is frozen.
Process safety, HSE and permits
- Safety leadership: Make health, safety and environment the first priority, and set clear safety expectations for every contractor on site.
- Process safety: Make sure process safety is designed in, through HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA/SIL studies, management of change and pre-start-up safety reviews.
- Permits and regulations: Make sure the project complies with its environmental permit, building permits and other approvals. Make sure the plant meets the rules that apply, such as Seveso, ATEX, the Pressure Equipment Directive, CE marking and Swedish work-environment rules for construction, including the BAS-P and BAS-U coordination roles.
Execution and project controls
- Cost and schedule: Control cost and schedule against the approved baseline, and protect contingency through tight control of scope, change and claims. Track progress, commitments and forecasts using earned value, and act early on deviations.
- Contracting and procurement: Manage the remaining procurement and contracts, including equipment vendors, site contractors and performance guarantees from technology and equipment suppliers. For future projects, set the contracting strategy (such as EPC, EPCM or multiple packages), prepare tenders and negotiate contracts.
- Quality: Make sure equipment and construction meet specifications through inspection and test plans, factory and site acceptance tests, and complete handover documentation.
- Risk and change: Keep a live risk register covering technical, commercial and schedule risks, and run a disciplined change-control process.
- Utilities and infrastructure: Make sure the grid connection, utilities and logistics are ready in time for commissioning, as these often set the critical path for a new plant.
Commissioning, start-up and handover
- Commissioning and start-up: Lead the EPCM contractor, vendors and the operations team through system-by-system commissioning, start-up and performance testing, and hold suppliers to their performance guarantees.
- Operational readiness: Work with operations and maintenance so that people, procedures, training, spare parts and maintenance systems are ready before start-up, and ramp the plant up to its performance targets.
- Close-out and lessons learned: Close out the project formally and turn lessons learned into standards for future plants.
Stakeholders and team
- Stakeholder communication: Keep management, authorities and the local community informed and engaged.
- Team leadership: Lead and strengthen the owner's project team of engineers, project controls, procurement, quality, HSE and operations staff.
